"Biological Diversity: The Rhythm of Nature" was held in Gölhisar
In collaboration with Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Wildlife Conservation, Rehabilitation Application and Research Center, Gölhisar Vocational School and Gölhisar Science High School, a conference and exhibition on Biodiversity was held on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 14:00 as part of the Science Applications in High Schools Project.
Dr. Lecturer Yasemin ÖZDEMİR, Director of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Wildlife Conservation, Rehabilitation Application and Research Center and Faculty Member of Gölhisar Vocational School Forestry Department, provided information on biodiversity to students in her conference titled "Biological Diversity: The Rhythm of Nature". She shared the richness of our country and provided information on how factors such as climate change, global warming, pollution, and the excessive and unsustainable use of resources have seriously damaged biological diversity and threatened human life over the past century. Within the scope of the conference, she demonstrated the machinery and equipment used in determining species diversity practically.
In the second part of the program, an exhibition titled "Different Faces of Nature" consisting of ÖZDEMİR's photographs and biological illustrations was organized. In the exhibition visited by Gölhisar Science High School students and teachers, questions directed by the students were answered. Afterwards, brochures and booklets prepared on the subject were distributed.
